We have been granted for planning permission a 400sqm new build, contemporary home in Ewhurst, Surrey.
We took care to design this 400sqm home set in a rural, village setting to ensure the design didn't impact the conservation area. The family home is part of a village on the outskirts of Ewhurst in the Surrey Hills. We applied for preapplication advise to show how we have understood the local and national planning policies, the local context of materials and the surrounding massing. The house is set back from the boundary, a mix of single and two storey with it's volume stepping down with the gently sloping site and materials blend with the surrounding buildings and woodland - timber cladding and flint are the main materials. The house is U-shaped, with a sheltered courtyard overlooked by the living areas and offering privacy in the open landscape beyound.
We commissioned Sophie to work magic on our very rundown property. We had a few ideas of what we wanted but Sophie added so much more imagination, ideas and flair to our project. She was always punctual, got great quotes for all the work, and all round did an outstanding job. We will most definitely engage Sophie again the next time we have a renovation.
